Attend til the End Challenge

From August 28 - December 1, RecWell is challenging you to attend as many group fitness classes during the Fall 2024 semester! ÌýWhy? Because consistency matters and simple, daily efforts can make a lasting impact! ÌýEvery group fitness class you attend (and are checked-in for) counts towards your total points. ÌýThe person with the most points at the end of the semester will win an iPad and a $100 lululemon gift card! No registration required!

Suicide Prevention Week

September is National Suicide Awareness month. ÌýDuring the week of September 9-13, RecWell will be hosting daily events to promote suicide prevention, mental health awareness, self care, mindfulness, and more.

  • Monday, September 9: SWAG tabling from 11am-1pm in the BSC Concourse and 3-5pm in the Bowers Center Lower Lounge - Take this opportunity to share positive messages to others on or off campus.Ìý There will also be information on other awareness events happening throughout the week.
  • Tuesday, September 10: Meditation: Enjoy an evening of relaxation from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Bowers Center Classroom. Lead by our campus meditation expert, Dr. Long, you will learn more about meditation, how it can help with stress, and be guided into your own practice. ÌýYoga mats will be provided but feel free to bring your own, if you prefer. ÌýPlease register in advance using the sign up
  • Wednesday, September 11: Candlelight Yoga - In a culture that demands we move faster and do more, ÌýCandlelight Yoga will allow you to slow things down, and connect to the essence of your Being. Join Wild and Free Power Yoga Studio at 7pm in the Bowers Center Group Fitness Room for a Ìýsoothing, yet strengthening flow. This class will create a deep focus of intentional movement for increased self-awareness, offering a meditative quality for a sense of ease and peace. Register in advance.
  • Thursday, September 12: K-Pets - SWAG invites you to spend a few minutes with your favorite furry friends from K-Pets! ÌýStop by the Bowers Center Upper Lounge onÌý from 4:30-6:30pm to participate in some pet therapy!
  • Friday, September 13: Nature Walk - Join SWAG, SEEDS, and the Psychology Program for a Nature Walk. ÌýDuring our walk, you'll hear more about how outdoor activities relate to lower stress levels, as well as the nature on campus. ÌýOnce we reach our destination, we'll enjoy snacks. ÌýFeel free to bring a blanket and stay at our destination site a little while longer! ÌýWe will meet at 3 pm in the Bowers Center Lower Lounge. ÌýWalk/program will conclude at our determined destination site at 3:45 pm. ÌýFor questions, please contact studentwellness@etown.edu.

125-Minute Challenge

During Charter Week, RecWell is celebrating ÅÝܽÊÓƵ's 125 years with the 125-Minute Challenge! ÌýThe challenge runs from September 23 - October 25. Log at least 125 minutes of physical activity each week to be entered into a chance to win a $125 Amazon gift card (up to 5 chances)! Register by emailing recwell@etown.edu and you will be sent an activity log!

CPR Certifications

The Office of Campus Recreation and Well-Being offers certification through the American Red Cross for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED. The cost for current ÅÝܽÊÓƵ students, staff and faculty is $65. The cost for community members is $80. Visit our CPR Certification website for more information and to register for one of the following upcoming classes:
